NFL: Lagardère Sports obtains management of social media and digital platforms in Germany

Lagardère Sports, a branch of the Lagardère Group dedicated to sport, obtained the management of, for the NFL, social media and digital platforms in Germany, on 29/08/2016. The sports and entertainment group will work with the NFL to develop a strategy on digital platforms in order to broaden the fan base of the league in the country.

"We are excited to partner with Lagardère Sports to grow our fanbase in Germany, an important step in our continued international growth. We have a tremendous, passionate fan base in Germany and we know Lagardère Sports will help us engage fans with meaningful and relevant content for this market," said Akash Jain, NFL vice-president of international commercial development, on 29/08/2016.

The NFL wants to relocate one or more regular-season games to Germany. The American league is mainly targeting the cities of Frankfurt (Commerzbank Arena, 50,300 seats) and Düsseldorf (Esprit Arena, 54,000 seats), but also Berlin (Olympiastadion, 75,000 seats) and Munich (Allianz Arena, 71,137 seats).
