Ligue 1: Nike (5 clubs) is the most represented kit suppler in 2016-17, for 3^rd consecutive year

With five of the 20 clubs (25%) under contract (Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco FC, Montpellier HSC, AS Nancy-Lorraine, and FC Metz), the American sports equipment brand Nike is the most represented kit supplier in Ligue 1 for the 2016-17 season.

As in 2014-15 (six clubs) and 2015-16 (five), Nike remains ahead of the German brand adidas, which has three clubs under contract in 2016-17 (four in 2014-15, and three in 2015-16).

Four kit supplier partnerships - or 20% of the league's clubs - have just begun in 2016-17: the American brands New Balance and Umbro with LOSC Lille and SM Caen respectively, and the Italian brands Macron and Lotto with OGC Nice and Dijon FCO.

The collaboration between Nike and Paris Saint-Germain is the longest running partnership of Ligue 1, as it enters its 28^th year in 2016-17. It is also the kit supplier agreement with the highest amount, with an annual payment estimated at €20m (excluding performance bonuses) from 2014-15 to 2021-22.

Two contracts expire in 2016-17: Nike with FC Metz, and adidas with FC Lorient.
