UEFA: Ángel María Villar Llona withdraws, A. Čeferin and M. van Praag only presidential candidates

"Last 19/07/2016, I submitted my candidature for the UEFA Presidency with an ambitious programme focused on making football the main focus of our organization. While I have received a great amount of support since then to continue my campaign, after a profound reflection I have decided to withdraw my bid," announced Ángel María Villar Llona, president of the Spanish Football Federation and senior vice-president of UEFA, n 06/09/2016.

UEFA must elect the successor to Michel Platini (FRA), president of UEFA since 26/01/2007 and suspended for four years from any position in football since 08/10/2015. This will take during the 12^th Extraordinary UEFA Congress, held in Athens (GRE), on Wednesday, 14/09/2016, with the elections beginning at 10:00 CET. All 55 member federations each have one vote.

Three candidates have officially submitted their candidacies for the presidency of UEFA before the deadline of 20/07/2016:
