Belarus - France (0-0), at the Borisov Arena (Borisov, BLR), in Group A of qualification for the 2018 World Cup, allowed the French private free-TV channel TF1 to draw an average of 5.88 million viewers in France, on Tuesday, 06/09/2016 (kick-off at 20:45 CET), according to data from the audience measurement institute Médiamétrie.

This represented, a 24.9% audience share, and allowed TF1 to achieve the best performance in the French TV market on 06/09/2016.

For comparison, the first qualifying match for France for the 2014 World Cup, Finland - France (0-1) drew an average of 5.2 million viewers on the private, free-TV channel M6 after Euro 2012, on 07/09/2012 (kick-off 20:30 CET). "Les Blues" did not take part in the qualifiers for Euro 2016 with France qualifying automatically as hosts.
