beIN Sports: acquisition of rights, in France, for AFCON 2017 (in Gabon, 14/01 to 05/02/2017)

beIN Sports France acquired exclusive rights, in France, to the 2017 African Cup of Nations, announced the sports pay-TV group on 06/09/2016. beIN Sports will offer the entirety of the 31th edition of AFCON, held in Gabon from 14/01 to 05/02/2017.

beIN Sports channels had previously acquired the rights to broadcast six games from the first round of qualification for Orange AFCON 2017, on 06/09/2015.

The last edition of the AFCON, in 2015, was broadcast in full, in France, on Canal+ Sport, a pay-TV channel belonging to the Canal+ group.

  • The Ivory Coast won the AFCON Organised in Russia, from 17/06 to 02/07/2017, eight national teams 2015.
    • Final: Ivory Coast - Ghana (0-0, 9-8 on penalties), in Equatorial Guinea, on Sunday, 08/02/2015.

CAN 2017: 16 teams qualified

  • Gabon, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Morocco, Uganda, DR Congo, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia and Zimbabwe.
  • The winner of Orange AFCON Organised in Russia, from 17/06 to 02/07/2017, eight national teams 2017 will qualify for the 2017 Confederation's Cup
