SV Darmstadt 98 (Bundesliga) has named their stadium after Jonathan Heimes, a supporter of the club, who lost his battle with cancer in March 2016, at 26 years old. The Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor (17,000 capacity) is therefore renamed the Jonathan-Heimes-Stadion am Boellenfalltor for the entire 2016-17 season, announced the club on 05/09/2016.

The German pharmaceutical company Merck, based in Darmstadt, is the naming partner of the stadium (since 2014) as well as the German club's training centre (since 2016). The company has agreed to have their name replaced in 2016-17 by the young supporter who passed away. Jonathan's father, a Merck employee, led this proposal. "It is with spontaneity that we agreed to make this special tribute, we are very pleased to have reached an agreement with all stakeholders," said Kai Beckmann, member of the board of Merck, at the ceremony held on 05/09/2016.
