Ligue 1: club buyer Frank McCourt names Jacques-Henri Eyraud president of Olympique de Marseille

"Mr. Frank H. McCourt Jr., the buyer in the pending acquisition of the Olympique de Marseille club, announced today (09/09/2016) the appointment of Jacques-Henri Eyraud, a contractor specialised in sport and media, as the future president of OM. This appointment is effective as of the closing of the transaction," announced Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) on 09/09/2016.

Jacques-Henri Eyraud will succeed Giovanni Ciccolunghi (72 years old), a member of the board of Louis-Dreyfus Holding, who was appointed president of the OM board to replace Vincent Labrune, the club president since June 2011 and who left the club on 25/07/2016.

Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, the majority shareholder of OM, officially announced the club was for sale on 13/04/2016. The American businessman Frank McCourt entered into "exclusive negotiations" for the acquisition of OM from Margarita Louis-Dreyfus on 29/08/2016.
