Premier League: adidas most present kit supplier in 2016-17 (5 clubs) for the 3rd consecutive year

With five of the 20 clubs (25%) under contract (Manchester United FC, Chelsea FC, Sunderland AFC, West Bromwich Albion FC, Middlesbrough FC), the German sports equipment brand adidas is the most represented kit supplier in the Premier League for the 2016-17 season.

As in 2014-15 (five clubs) and 2015-16 (six), adidas top their German counterpart Puma and the US-British brand Umbro, who each have three clubs under contract in 2016-17 (Puma: four in 2014-15 and 2015-16; Umbro: two in 2014-15 and 2015-16). The American brand Nike, third in the Premier League in 2014-15 with three clubs under contract, only has one representative (Manchester City FC, since 2015-16) for the current season.

Four new kit supplier partnerships, or 20% of the league, began in 2016-17:
• American brand Under Armour with Southampton FC
• Italian brand Macron with Stoke City FC
• Spanish brand Joma with Swansea City AFC
• Canadian brand Dryworld, a newcomer in the kit supplier market, with Watford FC
