Africa: Canal+ Afrique will broadcast the Ivorian Ligue 1 for the next five seasons (2016-2021)

Canal+ Afrique signed a partnership for a 5 year period with the IFF, which will enable it to broadcast the Ivorian first division championship in 25 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, on 09/09/2016. The Ivorian Ligue 1, which includes 14 teams and runs from November to September, "could potentially be broadcast in France according to the agreement," said Canal+ to News Tank Football on 14/09/2016.

"Canal+ will broadcast the main games from each matchday on its sports channels, giving them exceptional visibility in African countries in which the group operates. The partnership also focuses on supporting the development of audiovisual production for matches with regards to financial, technical, and editorial aspects. Finally, the valuation of the Ivorian Ligue 1 championship will be furthered due to interest from advertisers, thanks to this international distribution," said the French pay-TV group, on 09/09/2016.
