LaLiga Santander: Òscar Grau replaces Ignacio Mestre as CEO of FC Barcelona

Òscar Grau was appointed CEO of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) by the Catalan club's executive committee, announced the club on 12/09/2016.

In the next days, Òscar Grau will replace Ignacio Mestre, in office since 2014 and who has asked for time away for personal reasons. Ignacio Mestre will remain in charge of corporate areas (human resources, finance, systems, operations, etc.) as well as the foundation and the social activity of FC Barcelona.

"Òscar Grau has extensive experience of sports management. Apart from the last year running the FCBEscolas, he also oversaw the Barcelona Pyrenees bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics and was manager of the Catalan Handball Federation (1999-2007) and the Catalan Sailing Federation (1995-1999)," stated FC Barcelona.

Until this appointment, Òscar Grau was the director of FCBEscola, the club's football school network for boys and girls aged from 6 to 18 years old in Spain and abroad. 52 years old, he was a player in the handball section of FC Barcelona between 1984 and 1995.
