The 20 Ligue 1 clubs have an average of 12,090 season ticket holders for the 2016-17 season, making Ligue 1 the European Top 5 league with the lowest average figure.

With 33,600 season ticket holders, Paris Saint-Germain top the French clubs, but the Parisian club ranks only 15th throughout the Top 5 leagues. These 33,600 season ticket holders occupy 70% of the capacity of the Parc des Princes (47,929 seats), the largest proportion in the French championship. PSG had 36,000 season ticket holders (including hospitality) in 2015-16, but had previously decided to limit season tickets to 34,000 in 2016-17, to increase the number of tickets sold individually.

With only 4,000 season ticket holders, Dijon FCO and AS Monaco are the Ligue 1 clubs with the fewest subscribers. The two clubs also are last in the ranking of the 98 clubs of the Top 5 leagues, tied with SS Lazio (Serie A TIM). 13 Ligue 1 clubs have fewer than 12,000 season ticket holders, the highest figure among the Top 5 leagues. Only three French clubs have over 20,000 subscribers.
