The 18 Bundesliga clubs have an average of 24,394 season ticket holders per club for the 2016-17 season. This figure places the German championship third among the European Top 5 leagues, behind LaLiga Santander and the Premier League.

With 55,500 season ticket holders, Borussia Dortmund are the top German club in 2016-17. Dortmund rank third among all 98 clubs of the Top 5 leagues, tied with Manchester United FC (Premier League). All 18 Bundesliga clubs have more than 10,000 subscribers, which is unique in Europe. The German club that has the lowest number of season ticket holders is FC Ingolstadt 04 (12,000).

Ingolstadt are, in the Bundesliga, also the club whose season tickets / stadium capacity ratio is the highest (76%). However, this 76% mark is only ranked 16th amongst all 98 clubs of the Top 5 leagues.
