LaLiga Santander: average of 29,955 season ticket holders per club, average range from €247 to €910

The 20 clubs of LaLiga Santander have an average of 29,955 season ticket holders for the 2016-17 season, making the Spanish championship the European Top 5 league with the highest number of subscribers per club.

With 86,500 season ticket holders per club, FC Barcelona are the Spanish club with the highest number in 2016-17. Barcelona also lead the European ranking, ahead of another Spanish club, Real Madrid CF (63,000 subscribers). Seven Spanish clubs have more than 38,000 season ticket holders, and are among the top 15 clubs across the Top 5 leagues.

Specifically important, LaLiga Santander is the only Top 5 league where season ticket holders are not automatically counted in the match attendance. A subscriber who does not attend a match is not taken into account, contrary to the other four Top 5 leagues. This explains why the average number of season ticket holders of the 2016-17 LaLiga Santander clubs (29,655) is higher than the average attendance of the Spanish top flight in 2015-16 (28,112 spectators per game).
