UEFA: T. Theodoridis confirmed as general secretary, and 2018 Champions League final goes to Kiev

"The UEFA Executive Committee confirmed Theodore Theodoridis (GRE) as the permanent UEFA General Secretary, following a proposal of the UEFA President," UEFA announced after the first meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee under the leadership of the newly elected President Aleksander Ceferin (SLO), in Athens (GRE), on 15/09/2016.

Theodore Theodoridis (GRE) has held this position on interim basis since 04/03/2016, replacing Gianni Infantino (ITA-SUI), who became the FIFA president on 26/02/2016.

"The NSK Olympiyskyi stadium in Kiev, Ukraine will host the UEFA Champions League Final on 26/05/2018 and the Lilleküla stadium in Tallinn, Estonia will host the UEFA Super Cup on 14/08/2018. A decision regarding the UEFA Europa League Final 2018 will be made at a later stage," stated UEFA.

"We are on track to land the final of a European football competition in the coming weeks," said Jean-Michel Aulas, President of Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1), to News Tank Football on 12/09/2016.

The next meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee is scheduled for 09/12/2016.
