The 98 clubs of the European Top 5 leagues (18 clubs in Germany, and 20 each in England, Spain, Italy, and France) have an average of 20,787 season ticket holders for the 2016-17 season, according to data and research from News Tank Football on 15/09/2016. This figure represents 55% of the total capacity of the stadiums of these clubs.

LaLiga Santander is the Top 5 league with the highest average, at 29,955 season ticket holders per club in 2016-17, though this figure is heavily skewed by the numbers for FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF. When excluding those two clubs, the 18 other Spanish top flight clubs have an average of 22,755 season ticket holders. However, the average of all 20 Spanish league clubs (29,955) is ahead of the Premier League (25,750), the Bundesliga (24,394), the Serie A TIM (12,105), and Ligue 1 (12,090).
