Premier League: Everton promise €235,000 to support a young Sunderland fan with cancer

Everton FC have promised £200,000 (€235,000) to help finance essential care for Bradley Lowery, a five-year old fan of Sunderland AFC, announced Everton on 12/09/2016. This young "Black Cat" fan was one of the mascots who accompanied Sunderland onto the pitch at the Stadium of Light (49,000 capacity) for their home game against Everton (Matchday 4 of the 2016-17 Premier League season, 0-3, on 12/09/2016).

Bradley has had cancer since age 2, and his treatment costs £700,000 (€820,000) in the USA (of which he has raised £555,000 / €650,000 as of 18/09/2016). "Everton Football Club has pledged a donation of £200,000 to support Bradley Lowery in his brave battle. We wish Bradley every success and he has the love and support of every Evertonian. The Club will also be inviting Bradley and his family to the return game at Goodison Park and the players' signed shirts from tonight's game will be auctioned off to support the fund," said the club after the match against Sunderland.
