Transfers: Liverpool FC earned €442m by selling players to other clubs in the Top 5 (2010-2016)

Liverpool FC (Premier League) received €442m in transfer fees from the sale of players to other clubs in the European Top 5 leagues (Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1) between 2010 and 2016, which is the highest figure earned by any club over the period, indicated the "Letter of the Big 5" published by the CIES Football Observatory, on 19/09/2016.

Since 2010, Liverpool have received large sums of money, especially for the transfers of Fernando Torres (ESP, to Chelsea FC for €58m in 2010), Luis Suarez (URU, to FC Barcelona for €82m in 2014), and Raheem Sterling (ENG, to Manchester City FC for €62m in 2015).

Liverpool FC are ahead of Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander, in second place having received €432m over the same period) and Juventus (Serie A TIM, in third place having received €415m). The Serie A TIM is the most represented league among the 25 clubs that have received the most in transfers fees for the 2010-2016 period, with eight clubs, followed by the Premier League (six) and LaLiga Santander (five).
