Serie A TIM: €3.94m of matchday revenue for Inter against Juventus, a new record in Italy

Hosting Juventus (2-1, Matchday 4 of the 2016-17 Serie A TIM, on 18/09/2016) allowed FC Internazionale Milano to record €3.94m in matchday revenue, the club said to News Tank Football on 21/09/2016. This sum represents the matchday revenue record for one game in the history of the Italian league.

The Inter - Juventus match also the recorded the highest attendance since the start of the 2016-17 Serie A TIM season, with 76,484 spectators at the San Siro (fill rate: 95%). This same fixture drew 79,154 spectators in 2015-16, or 2670 less fans, but generated lower revenue due to lower pricing rates.

To calculate the matchday revenue for the game against Juventus, Inter took into account the seats sold via individual tickets, the hospitality revenues, and the revenues generated by season tickets (applied pro rata per game). Inter have about 27,000 season ticket holders in 2016-17.
