Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund surpass the 140,000 member mark

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) has surpassed the 140,000 member mark on its membership program. The 140,000th member, a nine year old child (pictured in the photo), was greeted on the pitch of the Signal Iduna Park (81,359 capacity) by Reinhold Lunow, the German club's treasurer, and Wolfgang Paul, the President of the Council, at the home match versus SV Darmstadt 98 (6-0, Matchday 3 of the 2016-17 Bundesliga), on 17/09/2016.

Borussia Dortmund, with 141,866 members in the last survey (on 17/09/2016), claims to be, in terms of membership, the third biggest German sports club, behind two Bundesliga rivals: FC Bayern Munich (277,000 members) and FC Schalke 04 (145,000 members).
