SFR 4K Sport: Ultra High Definition pay-TV channel started on Saturday, 24/09/2016

SFR's ultra HD 4K, sports, pay-TV channel was launched on Saturday, 24/09/2016, announced SFR, on 23/09/2016. The last of the five channels to make up the SFR Sport bouquet to be launched, SFR Sport 4K will broadcast Premier League matches (the first of which will be Manchester United FC - Leicester City FC, on Saturday, 24/09/2016, kick-off at 13:30 CET ), Aviva Premiership rugby matches (English first division) and Pro A competitions for whch Altice has the TV rights.

SFR bought the Altice share (49%) in NextRadioTV (BFM TV, BFM Business, RMC) and announced the launch of a sports pack consisting of five sports channels (SFR Sport 1, 2, 3, 5 and 4K) on 27/04/2016. These channels were integrated into SFR Media.

"The 4K channel and its current TV rights catalogue are in a test period. Production will start with three big events, including the Premier League. We entered into agreements with Premier League Productions to broadcast between 65 and a hundred matches in 4K.
