IMG Media acquires the rights to the Premier League in Spain and Andorra until 2016

International media rights agency IMG Media has acquired the rights to distribute the Premier League in Spain and Andorra until the end of the 2015/16 season, the company announced on the 10/07/2013. The deal includes live coverage and highlights for prospective broadcasters in both territories.

On the 20/02/2013, MMS (Multi Media Sports Group) was awarded the exclusive audio visual broadcast rights to the Premier League in Spain and Romania for the seasons 2013/14 - 2015/16, but the deal recently collapsed. Speaking to NTF on the 11/07/2013, the Premier League declined to specify the reasons for the breakdown in negotiations and when it took place.

IMG Media acquired the TV rights to the Premier League in Spain and Andorra, but Romania's package is still available, the Premier League told NTF.

For the 2010-2013 period, the broadcasting rights to the Premier League in Spain were sold to broadcasters Mediapro and Prisa. The games were screened by their respective subsidiaries Gol Television and Canal Plus.
