Russia: Vitaly Mutko reelected president of the Federation for the 2016-2020 period

Vitaly Mutko has been elected for a new mandate of four years as president of the Russian Football Union (RFS) during the extraordinary general meeting held in Moscow (RUS) on 24/09/2016. He obtained 266 votes, against 142 for his rival, former manager of CSKA Moscow and former Russia national team manager Valery Gazzaev.

Already elected president of the Russian Football Federation in 2005 and 2009, Vitaly Mutko was last elected to this position on 02/09/2015.

Vitaly Mutko also serves at the Russian Minister of Sport, President of the LOC (Local Organising Committee) of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and as a member of the FIFA Council.
