Premier League: 234,400,000 Facebook fans in total for the 20 English league clubs (October 2016)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Premier League season have a cumulative 234.48 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 05/10/2016. This total makes the Premier League the most popular European Top 5 league on Facebook, with am average of 11.72 million fans per club.

Manchester United FC are the most followed English club on Facebook (71,120,000 fans), and also the English club with the largest increase in fans in the past month (+278,550, or +0.4%).

Tottenham Hotspur FC became the sixth English club to pass the 8 million Facebook fans mark, a record number of clubs in the Top 5 leagues with at least this amount of fans. These six clubs represent 88% of the total number of Facebook fans of all the Premier League clubs.

By going from 1.17 to 1.21 million Facebook fans (+4.1%), Stoke City FC are the English club which registered the highest percentage growth from September to October 2016. The 20 English clubs added nearly 70,000 fans on average in September 2016, the highest figure in the Top 5 leagues.
