Bundesliga: 66.2 million Facebook fans in total for the 18 clubs in the German league (October 2016)

The 18 clubs in the 2016-17 Bundesliga season have a cumulative total of 66.28 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 05/10/2016. The German league is now the third most followed European Top 5 on Facebook in terms of average number of fans per club (3.68 million), having surpassed the average of the Serie A TIM clubs (3.67 million) in September 2016.

FC Bayern Munich are the most followed German club on Facebook, with 39.21 million fans, up 565,250 (+1.5%) since September 2016. The Bavarian club is the Top 5 team which drew the most new fans the last month. Bayern comprise 72.2% of the total new fans of the Bundesliga in the past month. Borussia Dortmund are the second most followed German club, with 14.85 million fans, up 121,100 (+0.8%) compared to September 2016.

Going from 168,500 to 180,100 Facebook fans, RB Leipzig posted the best percentage growth in the Bundesliga between September and October 2016. The East German club had the fourth best percentage growth in all the Top 5 leagues, behind two LaLiga Santander clubs…
