Serie A TIM: 73.44 million Facebook fans in total for the 20 Italian clubs (October 2016)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Serie A TIM season have cumulative total of 73.44 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 05/10/2016. The Serie A TIM, with 3.67 million average Facebook average per club, has now been overtaken by the Bundesliga (3.68 million fans on average per club).

AC Milan are the most followed Italian club on Facebook, with 24.82 million fans, a decrease of 18,100 (-0.1%) compared to September 2016. The second place Italian club on Facebook fans is Juventus (24.45 million, +188,550 fans), who are now only 368,650 fans behind AC Milan. Juventus should exceed AC Milan by the end of 2016-17 season if the current trends continue.

FC Internazionale Milano became the fourth Italian club to pass the 6 million fans mark on Facebook. This is the second league, after the Premier League, to have that many clubs above this threshold in the Top 5 leagues.
