LaLiga Santander: 211,940,000 Facebook fans in total for the 20 Spanish clubs (October 2016)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 LaLiga Santander have a cumulative total of 211,940,000 fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 05/10/2016. This total makes LaLiga Santander the second most popular European Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, as the Spanish league has an average of 10.59 million fans per club.

FC Barcelona are the most followed Spanish club, with 94.4 million Facebbok fans, up 156,850 (+0.2%) compared with September 2016. The Catalan club, who also lead the European Facebook ranking, is just ahead of Real Madrid CF (2^nd in both Spain and Europe, 92.2 million fans). Real Madrid are the club which saw the second increase in the Top 5 leagues (+280,530) on Facebook, after FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga, + 562250).

The Facebook fans of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF together, 186,680,000, comprise 88% of the total of all LaLiga Santander clubs, and more than the total of the 58 clubs in the Serie A TIM, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 combined.
