Manchester City (second in the Premier League in 2012/13) launched a consultation with its fans on the expansion project of Etihad Stadium (47,800 seats) on the 12/07/2013. On this occasion, the club presented an exhibition on various development projects.

Fans, partners and residents are invited to choose between two main options:
- 1) expansion of the south stand to increase the stadium capacity to 54,000 seats
- or 2) expansion of the North and South stands to extend the Etihad Stadium to 60,000 seats.

The consultation also seeks the opinions of fans on the location of the future space for visiting supporters in the Etihad Stadium area.

The club said that the expansion of the stadium will allow to develop subscriptions at lower cost, with rates from 347€ (€505 now) in the new stands. The consultation is open until the end of August 2013 and the club hopes to submit a formal planning application for the enclosure with the Manchester City Council in December 2013.
