LaLiga: Javier Tebas provisionally proclaimed president, to be confirmed for new term on 11/10/2016

"Having convened this morning (05/10/2016), the electoral commission has examined the nomination submitted by Javier Tebas and, having found that this application was submitted in due time and that it respects the rules and regulations, decided to provisionally proclaim Javier Tebas the President of LaLiga," announced the Spanish League on 05/10/2016.

Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish League since April 2013 and whose term was scheduled to end in 2017, resigned on 21/09/2016, and immediately announced his intention to stand for a new term of four years at the head of the LaLiga.

"The election commission has scheduled its next meeting for Tuesday, 11/10/2016 at 10:30, which will aim to study, if any, the appeals submitted before 05/10/2016 (by the 20:00 deadline) against the provisional proclamation of Javier Tebas, and proceed to the final announcement of the President of LaLiga," added the Spanish League.

Alax Aranzabal has not obtained the necessary sponsorship for candidates
