Serie A TIM: 13.33 million total Twitter subscribers for the 20 Italian clubs (October 2016)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Serie A TIM season have a cumulative total of 13.33 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 06/10/2016. The Serie A TIM ranks in third place in the European Top 5 leagues, behind LaLiga Santander and the Premier League, with an average of 667,000 Twitter followers per club.

AC Milan are the most followed Italian club, with 3.89 million Twitter followers, an increase of 77,300 (+2%) compared to September 2016. Juventus (2nd, 3.43 million Twitter followers) and AS Roma (3rd, 1.14 million) complete the Italian podium. These three clubs have a cumulative 8.48 million followers, or 63.61% of total of the 20 clubs in the Serie A TIM.

Overall, only seven Serie A TIM clubs have more than 250,000 followers on Twitter, ranking Italy last in the Top 5 leagues with clubs below this mark. FC Crotone (9,230 followers) are the least followed of the 98 clubs of the Top 5 leagues on Twitter.

The figures included only count the primary Twitter account of each club.
