Virtual Reality: Sky launches Sky VR application, available for free

Sky plc has launched its virtual reality application - Sky VR - available for free on Apple (iOS) and Android platforms, announced the British broadcaster on 03/10/2016. The application, available in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, France, and the United States, provides access to video content from Sky and its partners, including Disney and Warner studios. Sky, the main partner of the Sky cycling team, will also offer an immersive experience of the Tour de France and a programme around its Formula 1 team, "Team Williams".

Sky announced the creation of Sky VR Studio, a production studio dedicated to virtual reality, on 17/03/2016. The first content from the studio will be produced for Formula 1 with test videos filmed on the Barcelona circuit (ESP). Sky unveiled two new concert experiences in virtual reality: the first entitled "Closer", established by the Sky VR Studio, which features the former footballer David Beckham (ENG) and goes behind the scenes of major sporting events such as Formula 1.
