FC Barcelona: extension with Nike and Qatar Airways submitted to a vote of the socios on 29/10/2016

The executive committee of the FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) ratified, on 26/09/2016, the agenda for the annual general meeting of the club's socios (club association members) who hold voting rights, which will take place on Saturday, 29/10/2016. The agenda notably includes the validation of the 2015-16 accounts and the 2016-17 budget, as well as the ratification, as appropriate, of the extension of the partnership contracts with the airline Qatar Airways and the US sports equipment manufacturer Nike.

The Qatari airline Qatar Airways has extended, for one season (2016-17), as the main shirt sponsor Barça on 19/07/2016. The extension was negotiated on "the same terms as the current contract," said the Catalan club, or approximately €35m for the 2016-17 year, excluding sporting performance bonuses. Qatar Airways became the main shirt sponsor of the club in 2013-14, and a fixed amount of €30.5m for that year, €32m in 2014-15, and €33.5m in 2015-16, excluding sporting performance bonueses (which include a clause for an estimated €5m for winning the Champions League).
