Spain: LaLiga wants to promote and help clubs more with partnerships, especially abroad

"Benchmarked against the Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and Calcio (Serie A), we are not as successful at selling sponsorship. The stronger LaLiga becomes as a whole, the stronger the clubs as a property become," said Adolfo Bara Negro, managing director of LaLiga, in charge of sales and marketing, at the Leaders Sport Business Summit in London (United Kingdom), on 06/10/2016.

"The league and clubs, we are competitors when it comes to finding sponsors. We are looking for similar brands. Last week we had a meeting with all the clubs' marketing directors, and explained it is our job at LaLiga to increase the value of our brand," said Adolfo Bara Negro.

Adolfo Bara Negro explained that the Spanish League wants to help promote clubs with a "more concerted approach" and help them find more partners, relying in particular on its network of six commercial offices abroad: Beijing (China), Dubai (UAE), Johannesburg (South Africa), New York (United States), Abuja (Nigeria), and New Delhi (India).
