Formula E: Manchester City (Premier League) partner of the Chinese team Techeetah in 2016-17

The Manchester City FC logo (Premier League) will appear on the front wing of the cars of the new Chinese auto racing team Techeetah, who joined the FIA Formula E, since the launch of the 2016-17 season, in Hong Kong (CHN), on 09/10/2016. Techeetah, the only Chinese team in the circuit and the latest one to join the World Championship of Electric Cars, share a common shareholder with Manchester City: CMC (China Media Capital).

The Chinese investment fund specialises in the cultural industry, as well as media and new technologies, and partnered with their counterpart CITIC Capital to acquire a little over a 13% stake in CFG (City Football Group), the holding group of Manchester City FC, for $400m on 01/12/2015 (€377m at the time). CMC acquired the license of the Japanese auto racing team Team Aguri on 28/06/2016, and set their sights on Techeetah to engage in the third season of the FIA Formula E Championship.
