On the 11/07/2013, Italian striker Marco Di Vaio (MLS Montreal Impact, CAN), was voted by FIFA 13 players, to participate in a match between players from the MLS and Italian team AS Roma. The match was organised by the video game developer Electronic Arts.

The "AT&T MLS All-Star Challenge", held from the 03 to the 10/07/2013, offered players the chance to choose their favourite footballer from 26 candidates and score as many goals as possible with him on the FIFA 13 video game, with each goal equalling a vote. The Italian won the contest with 73,838 goals. He beat Irishman Robbie Keane of LA Galaxy (69,797 goals).

The other 10 players in the "MLS All-Star Fan XI" team are from the North American League. They have been selected by internet users on the 08/07/2013. Among them are two French players, Thierry Henry (New York Red Bulls) and Aurélien Collin (Sporting Kansas City). The match between the MLS players and AS Roma will be played at Sporting Park in Kansas City (capacity: 18,500), on the 31/07/2013.
