AFCON 2017: Gabon face Guinea Bissau in the opening game, on 14/01/2017 in Libreville (Gabon)

The host country of AFCON 2017, Gabon, is in Group A along with Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and Guinea Bissau, following the draw for the AFCON 2017 groups conducted in Libreville (Gabon) on 19/10/2016. The opening match will places host Gabon against Guinea-Bissau, on 14/01/2017 (kick-off at 17:00 local time, 18:00 CET) at the Stade de l'Amitié in Libreville.

The top four seeds determined on 27/09/2016 were Gabon, Ivory Coast (defending the title and current No.1 in the FIFA rankings for Africa), Ghana (finalist of the last AFCON, in 2015) and Algeria (2^nd best ranked African nation).

Algeria is in Group B with Tunisia, Senegal, and Zimbabwe. Ivory Coast is in Group C with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Morocco, and Togo. Ghana, Mali, Egypt, and Uganda make up Group D.
