A total of at least 4.981 million viewers on average watched the 10 games of Matchday 9 of the 2016-17 LaLiga Santander, from 21/10 to 23/10/2016.

This is the best cumulative TV audience of the 2016-17 season. The highest TV audience of the weekend was for the Real Madrid CF - Athletic Club Bilbao (2-1) match: which drew 1,329,000 viewers on average on pay-TV channel Movistar Partidazo, on Sunday, 23/10/2016 (20:45 CET). This figure represented a 7.2% audience share for the channel of the Telefonica group, which ranked first in the Spanish market for pay-TV for the entire day.

The Valencia CF - FC Barcelona (2-3) match drew 1.015 million viewers on the pay-TV channel beIN LaLiga, on Saturday, 22/10/2016 (16:15), for an audience share of 8.1%.

On Spanish free-TV, CA Osasuna - Real Betis Balompié (1-2), drew 647,000 viewers on Gol (the Mediapro channel relaunched on 02/06/2016) on Friday, 21/10/2016 (20:45), for an audience share of 4.3%.
