Sportel Monaco: Canal+, NBC Sports, and BBC Sport win Sportel Monaco Awards for 2016

The audiovisual groups Canal+, BBC, and NBC Sports were among the winners of the Sportel Awards 2016, during a ceremony which took place on Tuesday, 25/10/2016 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

"Neymar in slow motion", won the Best Slow Motion award, for the final of the 2016 Olympic Games (Brazil - Germany, 1-1, 5-4 on penalties, on 20/08/2016), in Rio de Janeiro (BRA), and was won by Philip Parrish and Samson Chan of the NBC Sports Group, in an award sponsored by the French National Olympic Committee.

Sportel Monaco 2016 (24/10 to 27/10/2016 at the Grimaldi Forum) was a specialised convention of the sports media content industry. In 2015, the Sportel Monaco drew 2,786 participants, representing 994 sports companies and 75 countries. 34% were rights buyers, the other 66% were sellers. 24% of participants represented a broadcasting group, and 70% were from the European region.
