Bundesliga: TSG 1899 Hoffenheim post record turnover of €128m in 2015-16 (+80%)

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (Bundesliga) posted a record turnover of €128m for the 2015-16 fiscal year (01/07/2015 - 30/06/2016), up 80% compared to 2014-15 (€71.5m), the club announced on 27/10/2016.

Hoffenheim reported an operating profit of €18m in 2015-16, compared to an operating loss of €19m in 2014-15. The revenue increase is explained by the strong gains from player trading, which amounted to €56m for the accounting year, largely due to the transfer of the Brazilian player Roberto Firmino to Liverpool FC (Premier League) for €41m.

"We know where the growth in revenue comes from. In recent seasons, we have invested in a targeted manner on players that form the basis of our future transfer income. Moreover, it is very good that we recorded growth in all revenue streams," said Frank Briel, the chief financial officer of the club.
