The average attendance for a club belonging to five main European championship (Premier League, Bundesliga, Liga BBVA, Series A, Ligue 1) was 29,430 spectators in 2012-13, according to data compiled by News Tank. Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) had the strongest average attendance with 80,520 spectators in the Signal Iduna Park.

Five Bundesliga clubs (Dortmund, 1st; Bayern Munich, 4th; Schalke 04, 6th; Hamburger SV, 8th; and VfB Stuttgart, 10th) appear among the top ten clubs in average attendance for the 2012-13 season in Europe. FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA, 2nd), Manchester United (Premier League, 3rd), Real Madrid (Liga BBVA, 5th), Arsenal (Premier League, 9th), and Newcastle United (Premier League, 10th) round out the top ten.
