World Cup kit suppliers since 1998

NTF has published an inventory of kit suppliers for five World Cups involving 32 teams, since the 1998 World Cup in France. A total of 20 different companies were present on at least one final phase, but only three did not miss any competition : Nike, Adidas and Puma.

For the first time since 1998, Nike will be the most visible brand in 2014 in Brazil (10 teams). In 1998 in France, in 2002 in Japan and South Korea, and in 2010 in South Africa, German brand Adidas was the most visible brand with respectively 7, 10 and 12 teams. Finally, in 2006 in Germany, German brand Puma was the most visible (12 teams).

On the number of different kit suppliers in each World Cup, they are less than 10 since 2006 (7 in 2006, 7 in 2010 and 9 in 2014), whereas they were 11 in 1998 and 12 in 2002. Italian brand Kappa and German supplier Hummel are no longer represented since the 2002 World Cup .

In 2014, 9 brands share the 2014 World Cup market. Nike (10 teams), Adidas (8 teams) and Puma ( 8 teams) will be most present. Lotto, Burrda, Joma, Legea, Marathon and Uhlsport will each equip 1 selection.
