"The 32 clubs that took part in the 2015-16 Champions League group stage and the ten that were knocked out in the play-offs shared more than €1.345bn in payments from UEFA, over €315m (+30.5%) more than the previous season (2014015)," announced UEFA on 01/11/2016. The 2015-16 edition was the first of the 2015-18 cycle of TV rights to the Champions League.

The clubs which earned the most from the 2015-16 Champions League:
• 1 - Manchester City FC (€83.85m), eliminated in the semi-finals by Real Madrid CF, the winner of the competition
• 2 - Real Madrid CF (€80.06m), winner of the 2015-16 Champions League
• 3 - Juventus (€76.25m), eliminated in the Round of 16 by FC Bayern Munich
• 4 - Paris Saint-Germain (€70.8m), eliminated in the quarter-finals by Manchester City FC
• 5 - Club Atlético de Madrid (€69.66m), 2015-16 Champions League runner-up
