Real Madrid (2nd in La Liga in 2012/13) are the world's most valuable sports team, according to Forbes magazine on the 15/07/2013. The Spanish side are ahead of Manchester United (Premier League champions in 2012/13) in second place and FC Barcelona (La Liga champions in 2012/13) in third.

In the top 50 most valuable sports teams, there are 30 American football franchises, 7 football teams, 7 baseball teams, 3 basketball teams, 2 F1 teams and 2 ice hockey teams.

Real Madrid, whose financial value is estimated at €2.57bn, has a turnover of €498m (+62% compared to the previous 3 years) and a gross operating income of €130m for the 2011/12 financial year.
