Academies: Real Madrid have trained the most players (41) currently in the Top 5 leagues (CIES)

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) are the club which has trained the most players who have currently played at least one game with a team in the European Top 5 leagues in 2014-15, 2015-16, and 2016-17, according to CIES Football Observatory, in a newsletter published on 31/10/2016.

41 players trained at Real Madrid - therefore they spent at least three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21 years old at the club - have participated in games of the Top 5 leagues in 2016-17 or the two previous seasons. The Madrid club is ahead of FC Barcelona in this regard (LaLiga Santander, 37 players) and Manchester United FC (Premier League, 34).
