The former Polish international Zbigniew Boniek, 60 years old, was re-elected for four years as the president of the Polish Football Federation (PZPN), on 28/10/2016. Boniek obtained 99 votes out of 115 delegates, with the 16 other votes for his opponent Joseph Wojciechowski.

"I have been captain of this team for the last few years, and I am glad that I will continue my work for Polish football. We have done much in recent years, and we will continue in this way," said Zbigniew Boniek, who has headed the Polish Federation since 26/10/2012.

"We will support youth and amateur football and we'll try to help our women's national team emulate the men's team, which is doing really well. We will also continue working on coach education; we can be proud of our coaching academy, which is one of the best in Europe in my opinion," added the former striker of Juventus and AS Roma, on 28/10/2016.
