Greg Dyke has been appointed chairman of the FA (Football Association, English football federation) on the 13/07/2013. His appointment was unanimously approved by the FA Council, after the FA Board agreed his nomination on the 21/03/2013. Greg Dyke replaces David Bernstein, who had held the position since January 2011.

"Greg joins at an exciting time for the FA as we celebrate our 150th anniversary and for English football with St. George's Park open (training and education centre opened on the 09/10/2012), new plans for the development of young players and coaches and a vibrant women's game, to name but a few," said Alex Horne, FA General Secretary.

One of Greg Dyke's first achievements as FA chairman was the deal concluded with the BBC and BT Sport to broadcast the FA Cup until 2018, on the 17/07/2013. The contract includes the broadcast of matches on TV, online and mobile devices. The deal is worth £200m (€231.5m)
