Germany: Reinhard Grindel, president of the Federation since 15/04/2016, reelected until 2019

Reinhard Grindel, 55 years old, was unanimously reelected as the president of the DFB by the 258 delegates at the 42nd ordinary general assembly of the German Federation, in Erfurt (GER), on 04/11/2016.

The only candidate, Reinhard Grindel, who was previously a journalist and politician, has held the position of president of the Federation since 15/04/2016, when he succeeded Wolfgang Niersbach, who resigned on 09/11/2015 following the scandal involving the awarding to Germany, in 2000, the organiszation of the 2006 World Cup. "It is nice to now be a real president, and not just an interim one," said Reinhard Grindel on 04/11/2016.

The general assembly of the German Federation also confirmed in their functions all the other members of the Executive Committee (17 members), including the secretary general of the DFB, Friedrich Curtius.
