SBS Discovery Media has acquired the media rights to Euro 2016 and 2018 World Cup qualifiers in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, UEFA (Union of European Football Association) announced on the 18/07/2013.

In Denmark, the national team’s matches will be shown on Kanal 5; Norwegian fans will be able to follow their national team’s progress in the qualifying matches on TV Norge and/or MAX; and qualifying matches featuring Sweden will be shown on a combination of Kanal 5 and another, as of yet unnamed, free-to-air channel.

SBS Discovery Media will also broadcast live match programmes in each territory, featuring key matches played by other countries. It will also offer comprehensive free-to-air highlights of matches taking place on the same day as games involving Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

All matches will also be available in each territory via the Internet and mobile.

SBS Discovery Media was formed in April 2013, when American network Discovery acquired SBS Nordic from Germany's ProSiebenSat.1. The UEFA deal is its first major sports rights acquisition since then.
