NFL: extension of partnership with Google to stream content in virtual reality

The NFL and YouTube, the streaming and video sharing platform, have extended their partnership to allow fans worldwide to access content in virtual reality, on 03/11/2016. The partnership between the Google subsidiary and the NFL began in 2015.

The NFL will produce a series of nine episodes focused on the scenes of the competition. The first episode will be filmed in virtual reality, and will be accessible via the NFL YouTube channel on Thanksgiving Day, 24/11/2016. The episodes will be made available later in the year on Daydream, the Google mobile virtual reality device.

"Virtual reality is an emerging platform that enables content experiences with a truly unique vantage point that brings fans closer to the game. It's an exciting new medium to explore as we look to evolve and grow our offerings, and this partnership with Google is an important step in that direction," said Vishal Shah, senior vice-president of digital media of the NFL, on 03/11/2016.
