Brazil: ESPN Brazil joins with CineLive to broadcast the Premier League in cinemas

CineLive, a Brazilian group specialising in content delivery in cinemas, signed a partnership with ESPN Brazil to broadcast the Premier League in Brazil in cinemas, announced by the Brazilian subsidiary of the US sports pay-TV group on 01/11/2016.

The agreement, which began on Saturday 05/11/2016 with the broadcast of Manchester City FC - Middlesbrough FC (1-1) in 16 cinemas in 14 Brazilian cities, and will run until the end of the 2016-17 season. "The sale of tickets is available on the website www.cinelive.com.br and in participating theaters. The entrance is 30 reais (€8.50). The full programme of matches to be broadcast is available on the CineLive website, two weeks in advance," stated CineLive and ESPN.

ESPN holds the exclusive rights to broadcast the Premier League in Brazil for the 2016-2019 cycle, acquired on 28/09/2015. The pay-TV channel will not sign a sublicense agreement for these rights in Brazil for the 2016-17 season, they announced on 01/08/2016.
