Schalke 04: the Veltins Arena increases its capacity by 300 seats (180 in VIP areas)

Schalke 04 are profiting from the summer break by increasing the capacity of their stadium, the Veltins Arena. 300 new seats have been added to the stadium, 60% of which (180 seats) are in VIP areas.

At the beginning of the 2013/14 Bundesliga season, on the 09/08/2013, the Veltins Arena will have a capacity of 61,824 (4,050 VIP), with 54,442 seated fans. For events with a stage (concerts, shows), 79,296 visitors will be able to attend.

The Veltins Arena, opened in 2001, has 72 boxes. Schalke 04, who finished 4^th in the Bundesliga in 2012/13, will play in the Champions League qualifiers in August. With a draw on the 09/08/2013, the matches take place on the 20 and 21/08/2013 and the 27 and 28/08/2013.
